NewsRimes4Lines

Everybody’s a rapper these days, or so it seems. And media types are no different, it would appear.

Mark Trahant, the editorial page editor of the PI (until tomorrow, although that’s a different story) is doing his part to keep the kids up on the latest news. His Twitter, called NewsRimes4Lines (hence the title of this post) is a presentation of news events in rhyming couplets.

It can be strangely sublime:

What can I say when the P-I dies?/Truth is: Hard to keep tears from my eyes/Did my best, covered my beats/I still plan to send you my tweets

It can beĀ  somewhat forced:

Congress slow to try a telemark/ending practice of the earmark/It all depends on how you define/If it looks good at home, the money’s mine

But no matter what, I can’t stop imagining Mark Trahant outside a show in the freestyle cypher. Cue the beat up, let’s get this guy guesting on some tracks.
