Four more years

This is an awesome piece of news: Northwest Indian College is making the leap to four-year instiution. Since it was founded 25 years ago as the Lummi Indian School of Aquaculture, NWIC has been moving towards awarding four-year degrees. Why is this so good? Let us count the ways: 1) It’s always a good thing to have more schools. Duh. 2) There aren’t very many (certainly nowhere near enough) universities and colleges specifically serving the Native American communities. 3) Their whole approach combines traditional Native American teachings with conventional environmental science. Badass!
