Every week, bevies of local and national artists travel to Seattle to show off their many many talents. We know you actually want to come doorbelling, but we know sometimes you’ve got things going on. To that end, henceforth you will always be able to check Hella Bus on Fridays for our official If You Can’t Come Doorbelling… weekend music recommentation.
We have deemed through a rigorous vetting process that Saturday’s Monotonix show at Neumos is the best that Seattle has to offer. The doors open at 8 and Unnatural Helpers and Black Eyes and Neckties will be opening the show. All the cool kids well be there.
Monotonix are a garage rock band from Tel Aviv, Israel. Purportedly, Monotonix have been banned from half of Israel’s music venues because of their raucous live shows. At Bumbershoot 2008, Monotonix played for all of 14 minutes and 8 seconds (video below) before Bumbershoot security cut the sound and removed the band from the stage. The band has been known to light themselves and their equipment on fire and to steal drinks from audience members, not to drink, but to pour on themselves. A Monotonix show is a once in a lifetime experience and should be shared with all.
You can download free (and legal!) Monotonix music over at RCRD LBL.
