No on 1033 at 10:33

The 1033 identity crisis: when is big government the solution? Apparently with Tim Eyman’s I-1033. The initiative does exactly what almost everyone – left, right, and center – agree is a bad idea: create a one size fits all approach to a many-sized state.

I-1033 would stuff every local municipality, from Tacoma to Toppenish, into one single funding straitjacket. If you think that every part of Washington is exactly the same, well, you obviously haven’t seen much of it. On the other hand, if you know that Whatcom County and Garfield County might want to have some local control of their funding sources, then you know that 1033 is a terrible idea.
