In almost any aspect of the Bus’s work, there’s a common thread that runs through everything: our services should function well, meet the needs of all the people it represents, and be a reasonable and effective resource. Sounds simple enough, right? Sometimes it is, and sometimes that maxim pulls into sharp relief the challenges that business and governing naturally run into.
But you know what’s great/awesome/stupendous? When the little things come together just so, and things get done. Case in point: an unnamed Bus staffer recently moved, and needed to connect with Puget Sound Energy to get some gas things taken care of (and no, that’s not what it sounds like). You know what happened? Not only was the customer service awesome on the phone, but when the PSE truck pulled up right on time for its appointment, they were able to address the issue at hand quickly and responsibly. And? And it was all free, part of the services they provide to their customers.
Hell yeah. Way to be PSE. It’s a small thing, but it’s a high bar that more agencies should aspire to.
