Make the bad man go away
We don’t believe in off-years
There’s an awesome article about Trick or Vote in the Post-Intelligencer today – Sharon Hong really captures the Bus’s energy, and really sells the awesomeness that is Trick or Vote. One big take-away? There is no such thing as an off-year election: 2009 is as big as it gets, and you’re part of that. Tomorrow is Trick or Vote – and you should be there. Care about equal rights and a Washington that can actually provide services like firefighters and education? Then RSVP today, and come Trick or Vote tomorrow. It’s on!

The goodness continues. You want to be there this Saturday – RSVP today!
And what behind the scenes looks like:
Remember: tonight it’s going down at Moe Bar (1410 10th Ave), the Bus’s regular monthly happy hour, with a ballot-party theme. Bring your ballot and yourself, and we’ll bring pens and voters guides. The rest, as they say, is magic.
WA Buzz – Ballot party
Moe Bar – 1410 10th Ave
6-8pm
No on 1033 at 10:33
So it’s not 10:33, but that’s okay – we’ve been BUSY with getting ready for Trick or Vote. Things you should note about Trick or Vote – it’s a dance party, it’s trick or treating, and it’s your single best way to make sure R-71 is approved and 1033 is voted down.
Were you there last year? Check out some pictures below. You WEREN’T there last year?! Where were ya? Don’t miss this year, sign up now!
Saturday!
Meet us at the club. It’s going down.
And by club we mean the Old Rainer Cold Storage in Georgetown – 5840 Airport Way South. RSVP today, let’s do this!
It’s a ballot party, people! Your favorite monthly happy hour, the Washington Buzz, now with voters guides and smart people (we thought we’d switch it up) to help you vote on all the issues of the day.
What do you need?
1) Your ballot
2) A beer (or three)
3) Your friends
And that’s it. That’s all. We’ll bring voters guides, pens, and even (get this) Bus stickers. Come through to Moe Bar (1425 10th Ave) from 6 to 8 pm tomorrow (Thursday) and make the magic happen! As always, our lovely monthly members get their first drink for free. If you’re a monthly member AND you come in costume, well, dang, we might just pick up your tab for the night.
Just sayin.
Today is R-71 celebrity heaven – check check it out, Michelle Clunie from Queer As Folk tells ya to vote to Approve R-71, and also extends a personal invite to Trick or Vote. Aw shucks, we’re blushing!
NOTE: Though Michelle says to meet up at 1, we’re actually meeting at 2:00 at the Old Rainier Cold Storage, 5840 Airport Way South. RSVP now, and we’ll see you there!
Yup, we’re a little behind on today’s No on 1033 at 10:33. Why, you ask? It’s simple – today we’re just one week (1!) out from election day. That means you, the all-powerful voter, have just seven more days to make sure your ballot is filled out, signed, stamped, and in the mail. Your ballot must (must (must!)!) be postmarked by November 3rd, aka next Tuesday, aka a week from today.
The good news – you still have time to vote. The even better news – you can make sure other progressive folks turn in their ballots on time by signing up for Trick or Vote right now! Trick or Vote is the SINGLE best way you can ensure voters turn their ballots in, and vote No on 1033 and Approve R-71. And you get candy to boot.
Seriously. The best way to get someone to vote? Tell them to. And if you’re dressed up like a werewolf or, even scarier, Hannah Montana, then you’re even more effective.
It’s game time! And we – that would be all the young, progressive people in Washington, and really anyone who cares about the future of our state – need YOU to come to Trick or Vote, ready to get candy, talk to voters, and seal the deal on one of the biggest “off-year” elections in Washington history.
Sign up today! Do it now! Bring a friend!
…and we’re spent, whew.
